What are you taking with you?

Summer Conversations 9
Welcome back to our Summer Conversations.
As I write this, I can already feel the season beginning to shift.
The days are still long and sunny, but there are little reminders everywhere that summer won't last forever, even here in Southern California. My son leaves for college in just a few short weeks, and that reality has me reflecting on far more than dorm room essentials and move-in day.
It's made me think about what I'm taking with me into this next season.
It's not just the lessons I'm carrying forward. It's the moments lived.
Watching my oldest graduate and prepare for his next chapter. Celebrating my youngest's birthday at the bowling alley and realizing, once again, how quickly time moves.
Evenings at the beach. Slow dinners outside. The quiet mornings. The laughter. The silence. The simple joy of being fully present in a season I didn't want to rush through.
Those are coming with me too.
Over the past couple of months, we've talked about attention, release, possibility, and trust. We've asked some bigger questions than we usually give ourselves permission to ask.
Some of the answers came in quiet moments. Others came while I was simply living my life.
And if I had to name the biggest lesson this summer has given me, it would be this:
Trusting myself to be the woman I am and acting accordingly.
Not waiting until I have all the answers or until I feel completely ready.
Not waiting for someone else to validate what I already know.
Trusting myself enough to make decisions that reflect the life I want to live.
The more I've done that, the more alive I've felt.
So before we step into what's next, let's pause for a few minutes together and gather what this season has given us.
- What are you taking with you from this season?
- What moments & memories will you treasure?
- What have you learned about yourself?
- What truth do you want to keep honoring when life gets busier again?
This is the last of our Summer Conversations, and I have loved having this rhythm with you.
I've been building something all summer for the woman who has been quietly nodding along to these messages.
More soon.
